My Thoughts About The Official Seal of UNO-R College of Information Technology

"At first, I don't really like our college logo because it's plain simple."

This is the official seal of the College of Information Technology in the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.  Enrolling in this college was never my plan.  I wanted to pursue Fine Arts, but I thought there's no course like that in this island.  Besides, the tuition itself was too expensive.  So, I ended up in IT.  At first, I don't really like our college logo because it's plain simple.  Unlike in any colleges in the university, our college logo was the simplest of all.  But when I knew the meaning of each elements that composes it, I started to like it and be proud of it.

The logo consists of the word CIT.  Can you spot the "CIT" word inside?  If you have, you have keen eyesight, hahah!  It also consists of a circuitry and a computer which we all know represents the IT world.  There's also a book which I think presents knowledge or wisdom and a heart with flame and a piercing arrow which presents Christianity.  Even if we're into technology, we still don't forget that Christ is the center of our lives.  You can also see sugarcanes around it which represents the sugar industry of Negros Occidental.  The star on the center, I forgot the meaning of it, hahah!  But it has an important meaning too.  Why would they put it there when there's no significance in it, right?

Soar High, InfoTech Falcon!

"Faith Seeking Knowledge"

We have another symbol.  It's the Falcon.  It is our college mascot.  As you can see the ribbon on it's beak says "Fides Querens Intellectum", it means Faith Seeking Knowledge.  For me, it means that  with faith, you can gain knowledge.  What is knowledge without faith, right?  For me, the falcon represents the ITs as it stands for the future of the world.  The silver outline of the Falcon is our official college color.  Silver represents the color of technology.  But I don't really know because most of the time, we use black.  Sometimes, because we can't find gray or silver shirts for events, we use black.  I prefer black because it's cooler and more comfortable to wear (in shirts) than gray.  Gray makes me sweaty, hahah!  Anyway, for those who find my writings about the symbols incorrect, I'm willing to accept corrections or maybe even criticisms.  Most of my writings are here are just my opinions and ideas.  Whatever comes on my mind, I write it down immediately.  :)
